Mauricio Viñuela, partner of Allende Bascuñán & Cía., presented at the First Municipal Public Law Congress

The partner of Allende Bascuñán & Cía., Mauricio Viñuela, was invited as a speaker to the first Municipal Public Law Congress. The event organized by the Association of Municipalities of Chile (AMUCH), in conjunction with San Sebastián University (USS), was held the past August 3rd and 4th.

The meeting addressed transparency issues at the municipal level, administrative probity, administrative responsibility, application of law 20,922, notable abandonment of duties, lack of service, municipal management and citizen participation. The objective was to promote the exchange of good legal practices at the municipal level and highlight the importance of the Law in the local management.

During the conferences were present the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of San Sebastián University, Rafael Rosell and the president of the Municipalities Association of Chile (Amuch) and mayor Colina Municipality, Mario Olavarría.

Also participated the General Deputy Comptroller of the Republic, Dorothy Pérez; Felipe Mahaluf, Public and Private Law expert; César Rojas, master in Public Law and diploma in Municipal Management; Council for Transparency president, José Luis Santa María; the lawyer and master of Harvard University, Arturo Fermandois and Andrés Chadwick, Public Law Center director and PUBLICUSS Society director.

The assistants, mostly professionals from the municipal area, were able to analyze many theoretical and practical cases, which will allow them develop better their professional practice, with a more theoretical level.
